I know about the relationship between these two men and am quite familar with Bob's work. My question is for anybody who owns a knife made by each of them. What is the major difference you can see in the work of the two? Dan Crotts has his own line with his name on it and I realize he has made a lot of the knives for Bob Dozier (so some are marked "Dozier" that I'm sure Dan had a big hand in making).

But I have never specifically handled one of Dan's knives where I have owned and used several of Bob's. I cannot help but think that Dan has added something 'different' to Bob's style. I'd appreciate anybody who has experience with both of these makers to comment about the differences you may have perceived either from "looks" of the knife or in using them.
Thanks,
Steve

Good question. I also wonder about Dan's heat treat if it is the same as Doziers. I know Dan's seminar at BLADE is great.

PM answered. I read that Dan does the heat treatment at his shop, but it is identical to Bob's (which is GREAT).
It'll be good and interesting if actual owners chime in!

I own knives from both, and can not tell any difference in quality. The are both outstanding.
They have some differences in styles offered, but you can really tell they both truly enjoy building knives that work!

Les, thanks. It's what I figured, but wanted it confirmed by somebody who has handled both.
