Dozier Folders by KA-BAR

Great knives for the money. I have a folding Hunter that as a tool box knife and got used to do some dirty jobs. The blade held up great and resharpened to hair popping in no time.
Solid, simple and sharp, mine came nice and sharp.

I picked up a Kabar Dozier Phat Bob just the other day, and I am totally impressed with it. Carries easy, AUS 8 steel is easy to sharpen, and the Phat Bob carries very nicely. I'll have to give the others pictured here a try.

Pros
Light weight
Decent blade, easily sharpened
Great value

Con
The black finish wears off easily, get the model without the coating
Not crazy about the clip, but thats just IMO

I really like the one I have, but my Benchmade takes up all the pocket time so it might have to move along. Its a nice little knife, very sharp and light weight.

Never heard of them till just now but they look awesome, especially for the price! For sure gonna pick up 1 or 2 of these. Thanks for posting

That pretty much sums it up except it has one more Con. There are seems you can feel from the molding, not that big of a deal. Actually make that two I needed to drop a few drops of oil in the pivot area to make it open and close smoothly. But their excellent knives for the money, don't hesitate to buy one.

Guess I'm in the minority. Sorry, but I wasn't impressed even considering the low price. Mine has a flexi- feeling to it, exacerbated by a bit a blade play.
Still, it's perfectly usable I suppose. It just didn't live up to the bargain-for-the-money hype.

No Bob W, you aren't the only one slightly disappointed by these folders.
They are decent knives for the price, however, they look and feel a little cheap to me, especially compared to other knives in the same price range.
My RAT2 absolutely blows every ka bar dozier folder I have ever owned (that has been quite a few over the years) out of the water in fit and finish, strength, and design.

If you like the look than get one see for yourself, you won't be out much if you don't like it and they aren't bad knives at all, just don't expect too much or you might be disappointed as I was.

I have a clip-point with opening 'oval' hole. It compares closely to unlined FRN Salts, or the older gen Delica from
Spyderco. However, mine has a stronger backspring, resulting in a more positive 'thwack' when locking-up.
There is no play at all, and tunes-up shaving sharp on my SharpMaker rather easily. The clip does have only one
attachment screw. However, it's secured end is deeply set into a matching hollow in the scale. I've had no
loosening issues.
