gotta say i'm very impressed with the quality, this won't be my last dozier i'm sure of that :D

Nice Dozier - I like the grind on the blade.

Lot's of people buying Doziers and posting them here lately.

Anything made by Dozier is good. Very good!

Dropped by the Dozier booth at Blade '07 and just drooled for 15 minutes.

You just cannot go wrong.

I just got my first and am looking for a second.

Fortunately, the delivery times are so long that there's little danger of buying more than one a year.

Well, you guys started this, so I'm going to chime in. Just splurged on my first Dozier this week, a K1 General Utility with a gorgeous jigged bone handle. Hair popping sharp, something I thought was about impossible with D2. Will do a review when I've gotten more familiar with this knife (will have to draw blood with it, no doubt;)).

i've already got a good idea of the next ones i'm going to order.
your right the wait times will at least curb me.... I hope
problem is A.G. Russell has some in stock :p

Ok, after reading a lot about RAT (Randall Adventure Training) knives, and their move over to use D2 steel, I never heard of it. I developed a liking to using softer steels that sharpen easier so I wouldn't have to rely on buying new diamond or ceramic hones. I am still learning how to perfect my sharpening skills with 440 stainless so am a bit afraid to buy D2, considering it is much stronger (which although supposedly holds an edge much better with more agressive qualities).
Let's say we have an economic collapse due to a supposed state of emergency and martial law is declared. Let's say we run off to the woods (if you have any nearby) and are lucky enough to not be found by federal tracking martials (because believe me, they will look). how long could you survive with a D2 steel blade when/if your sharpener goes belly up?

Just rambling, any thoughts?

Supposedly, using a knife that is no longer than four inches is the best for bushcraft, skinning and small chores around the camp (having a good steel like D2 is invaluable). My estimate, all you need is a small knife like this, and perhaps a kukri or small axe (Kommer?) for cutting branch limbs for fire. Do we really need anything more?
