For anyone who has owned a Dozier, he/she would know what a true simple well made knife it is.

I have one and it's time to shop for another since it's bday this month and somebody needs some gift ideas. haha:D

The reasons why I like the dozier (over my mini-grip D2) include;
1. Thin and light, a good fit for EDC (very important)
2. A well balanced knife when it's held in my hand
3. Super easy to sharpen and holds an edge fairly well
4. 1-handed operation, both opening & closing
5. Looks subtle and not overly aggressive (don't want to scare ppl away when I pull out my knife).

So I've been looking at the Spyderco Delica with the stainless steel handle. The stainless steel looks good but when I held it it didn't feel secure in my hand. Where as I really like the zytel handle on my Dozier. I wonder how the G-10 scale would feel.

So any suggestions? It has to be around $60 and blade lenght should exceed 3".

Can a mod fix the title of this thread.

It's supposed to read "Dozier owners.... opinion needed". :rolleyes:

I have the Aluminum Handled Dozier, same ergos and lightness of the Zytel version , but D2 blade.... I bought it because I liked my Zytel Dozier so much.

I own two Dozier fixed blades but I am unaware of any Dozier made folder that can be had for $60.

those are likely the only doziers you will find for under 300.00. his custom folders start in the 500.00 range.

It doesn't have to be Ka-Bar again... just anything under $60

OK lets see... I have a BM Pika , similar in style to the KaBar's , but not quite as flat, similar in quality.

Spyderco Native... very small profile, but cuts like a bigger knife. You can see it at WalMart, plus they carry a few Kershaw's that are well worth a look.

If you like the Dozier blades, I would take a hard look at the Spyderco Moran model. It is priced about right. Head over the Newgraham knives and take a look at one.

Get the Ka Bar Dozier 4059 with the D2 blade. Real smooth and holds an edge longer than Spyderco's VG10.
