Do you mean the KS-7 Wilderness knife?

I'm down for a Dozier myself this year, and there are plenty of reports here at BFC praising the Dozier D2.

There is a Bushcraft model coming out.. There is a passaround going on right now on the Dozier website.

I have the highest respect for Dozier knives..

That might be it. I'll double check it when I get home. I seen the add in a magazine. It was made with D2 steel and had a nice orange G10 handle. I can't get onto their website now.

For some reason I can't get on Dozier Knives website.

Will try when I get home later. Id love to get in on that passaround

Cant open the pick Guyon.

Sometimes at my work computer pics wont open.

banana-clip, I think you are talking about a new model.

I found this pic elsewhere. The report there is that this knife is not D2, but rather a new steel called CTS-XHP from Carpenter.

guyon we would really like to know if dozier is using another steel since he has been a d2 man since 70s.thanks dennis

Dozier knives are pretty much the standard by which all other semi-custom knives are judged. And D-2 steel is one of the world's truly great cutlery steels.:thumbup:

This link might clear things up a bit.

fivefold, I believe cross-forum links are frowned upon in general, though I certainly see them from time to time. Anyway, that's why I downloaded the pic, resized it, and posted it myself.

I believe so. Wander around over in the Dozier forum and you'll find Bob Dozier himself say this... (Dennis, I'll PM you the link.) I don't think he's forsaking D2 by any means, however.

The xhp is everything you would want in a stainless knife steel. Great finish, the best edge holding of any stainless I have used. It will be harder to sharpen, but can be worth the efford.
Mike Black, who writes for knife illistrated, is one of the only writers that really tests knives to their cutting limits, says that it is the best stainless he has tested. I think that spiderco is using it in their knives. It will not take the place of the 40 CP for me but I do offer it to the customer that is willing to pay for it and is willing to sharpen it.

Sorry about that. My apologies to the mods. Just remembered seeing this, and thought it would clear things up.

fivefolds, I don't think it's a huge deal. The main concern I've seen in the past involved instances where mods were trying to avoid cross-forum flame wars. That's certainly not an issue here.

Anyway, this thread is about Dozier feedback, so here an older thread that might interest the original poster...

Check the Wilderness Survival sub-forum here.
There is a thread there, might be back a couple of pages.

There's several different variations out there, I'm not sure if Dozier has picked one specific version to produce yet. For example I've also seen a D2 Scandi grind version as well as a D2 flat ground version.

I have one Dozer, If I were to get a new one ( No knife money right now) It would be this one.

If Bob Dozier makes it ,it is good. I have one and trust me, it is a fantastic knife. You can't go wrong with Dozier.

I can see the pic Guyon posted and thats the knife I seen in the magazine.

The article says its D2 steel.

Looks like a great knife. I have only heard good things about Dozier knives :thumbup:
