Does anyone know if there is any difference between the KS-1 on Bob's site, and the Dozier Master Skinner on A.G. Russell's site? It does say that it is an A.G. Russell exclusive. Anybody have one? Just a wonder'in. The photo's on A.G.'s site, always make me want to buy! :D

Just from looking at the websites, I was able to spot a few differences in the specs.
KS-1: 8 1/8" OAL
Master Skinner: 8" OAL
KS-1: 3 9/16" blade
Master Skinner: 3 1/2" blade
KS-1: 7 oz.
Master Skinner: 6.4 oz.

The knives could still be exactly the same, though. A.G. Russell and Bob Dozier probably just measured differently.
Other than the tiny differences in specs, the Master Hunter comes in Black Rucarta or Maple Burl, and in left or right-handed versions. The KS-1 comes in Black Micarta, and, (I think,) is ambidextrous. The Master Skinner looks like it has a slightly smaller choil, and I've also noticed that the positioning of the logos is different.
Sorry I couldn't do anything other than tell you stuff that you've probably already noticed. Why not send an email to one of them?

Looking back on this, thought I'd chime in.

The Master Skinner I got from A.G. Russell has maple burl handles. From Bob's Featured Inventory, black micarta handles. Handling and carrying both, there isn't any particular difference with the blade that's readily visible. The only difference I know of is that the maple burl handles on my KS-1 from AGR are thinner than the micarta handles from the shop. This may just be because they're wood handles though, that's all I can think of.

Does the AG have a lined lanyard hole?

That's the only difference I have seen on the smaller AG straight personals ..

Other than that, I would bet they are the same..

But, I bet Romney would win in a landslide..so what do I know ..

Thanks for the insight - It is appreciated!
