Just got this last week from AG Russell.

Yeah! Good stuff.

I ordered one like it from Bob directly so I could get a blade that was 1/2" shorter (4"), in just a touch more of a pure drop point grind and a kydex sheath. Very nicely done knives. A bit better finished (blade finish) but at a premium to his regular production pieces.

[subsequently edited to agree with KWM below...] Somehow, a stick tang with a stag antler as a handle and a dropped point just screams "hunting knife" and is a classic, and totally appropriate hunting knife design. Stag makes a fairly durable handle (with reasonable care) and is generally grippy enough too.

Simple, functional and just plain good looking. This is the kind of knife that has become a favvorite of mine. Thanks for sharing.

How did you order it from AG? On his site it says that the stag one are sold out:confused:

Maybe he got the last one. Just makes him a lucky guy I guess. Stag and hunters seem to belong together. Once again, that is a great looking knife.

KWM, it has said "sold out" for a few months. But heck, who knows; maybe he did get the last one.
