Got my Dozier Straight Personal today. Not as nice as Buzzbait's,
but alright.:D For the money, you can't find a much nicer knife. Got this one from AG Russell's.

Neat! Thanks for the pic. You guys are getting me very itchy for a Dozier.
My knees are starting to buckle.

Congratulations, Chip. A cool knife, I'm sure. I was just looking at the 3 Doziers in the AG Russell catalogue. Guess the Professional Guides model pushes my buttons the most.

I'm of the school that thinks nothing on a knife should be sharp, except the edge. How does that pointed ricasso work for you? Does it bother you? Get hung up on things? If the Pro Guides model had a flat, useful ricasso, I'd be all hot to get it.

I have that same knife and it is a sweet heart! BTW, a real handy small game knife that just keeps on working and working....

A constant companion on my belt. While never being fond of full finger grooves, Bob makes them so they actually feel and fit the hands. A rarity IME. Excellent choice.

Congrats on a VERY nice looking Dozier. I need to break down and get one of his knives.

Keep in mind that Bob Dozier makes custom knives. If you can explain to him what you want he can probably make it.

I wanted dual guards on mine. He apparently doesn't like to do them that way, but he did a beautiful job. It fits my hand just the way I had hoped.

Pick a model that comes close to your ideal then talk with Linda Dozier about what you would like done differently.

I have the identical Straight Personal, and an Arkansas Toothpick, and I never know which one to strap on, as I love them both! Two of my favorites among many. You ain't living until you have at least one Dozier! Very nice folks also, by the way.:D :D

Very Nice!!!! Is that the natural micarta color? I kind of wish my Dozier came with the horizontal sheath like yours. I like the vertical sheath, but it rides the handle a little too high for my tastes. The handle tends to dig into me when I sit down.

I also own a Dozier striaght personel that I bought from Russell's. I can still remeber thinking
when it arrived " I paid $135 for this little knife? ". Then I used it. Looked hard at it after
a while trying to figure out what was going on then used it some more. Darn...THAT'S
what I paid $135 for. Great. This knife is exactly what it claims to be. An everyday,
do anything always sharp plain yellow linen handled knife. No more, never any less.
I disliked the Kydex sheath that came with so I whipped up a small pouch sheath for
the knife. Then I noticed an interesting thing happened......People just didn't notice
it on belt anymore!! I've carried it in business ,stores etc. and folk's notice my supertool
more. The Dozier just doesn't draw attention at all. I think its' the handle color and the
small size that does it. However, this knife cuts like it's much , much bigger. Bob
Dozier and his wife Linda are two of the nicest folk's I' ve ever done business with
too.

I carry mine in my shirt pocket its handy and being a wheelchair user
it is out of the way better than on my belt.

Bugs,
If the ricasso is the pointy thing at the bottom.
It hasn't gotten in the way yet.

Buzzbait,
It is Yellow Micarta.

Great little Blade!! Thanks for sharing. I love Bob's work and am always buying different models looking for "The Best One", but some of his knives are so purpose driven that I have figured out that I could never own just one!! :) One of the best attributes about Bob's knives is they sharpen back up so EASY!! I know you'll enjoy using it, but I bet you enjoy sharpening it too.

Have Fun.

Just ordered me a Straight Personal from Dozier with light brown micarta with black stripe. It will be about a four month wait. I sure would like to see some pictures of some of your straight personals either on here or you can email them to me. It will give me something to stoke my anticipation.
