I just received my new Dozier Workhorse folder! The wait was much shorter than I had anticipated, overall fit and finish are superb, lock up is solid, and it came very sharp from Bob's shop.

I took some photos to show some size comparisons between a Skirmish and a Manix. It really is a large folder, built solid in a way that feels very American. ie. similar to how a S&W Model 29 feels in the hand compared to a Taurus. Overall, I couldn't be happier and this is an excellent knife.

Onto the photos:

Enjoy!

Hey!
Very impressive folder

Two questions:
1- How much?
2- What kind of lock is it? Looks like a Compression or something

Hey Alberto, not sure about this forum's policies on pricing, but if you PM me, I'll let you know what I paid for it.

It's what Bob calls a "Tab" lock, kinda like a liner lock, but the lock is nested and goes all the way across the back of the blade -removes the need for a stop pin. The way Bob does it, it's really thick titanium and locks up like a bank vault.

That's some thick blade stock, very stout. I like the ano pattern on the handle too. Very nice.

Nice knife! How thick is the edge at the top of the bevel? It looks nice and thin, like it should slice very well in spite of the thick spine with that nice high hollow and thin edge.

It's 0.030" behind the edge. Pretty stout, but cuts like it's a lot thinner.

How thick is the spine? While in an overall sense of things the edge is thick, for a knife with that thick of a spine it isn't too bad and actually looks thinner. My Dad's Kershar Cyclone (around 1/8" stock) had the same edge thickness, so for a knife that looks to me much thicker than the Manix at the spine that isn't bad (I think my Manix is .022-.024" thick behind the edge, if I remember right, with a .155" spine).

Hey Mike,

The spine is 0.20" thick (almost a 1/4")!

Sweet! How do you open it? It looks like it has a flipper, or are the thumbstuds more accessible then they appearer? Nice score!

Very interesting lock. But without stop pin, a failure can make the blade fold in any direction

Did I get it right or I'm missing something?
How do you like the design?

I tried torquing it and putting weight on it both ways, it doesn't budge. The tab is pretty thick and made from titanium. If Bob made it, I trust it. I've never heard of one of his tab locks failing.
