thanks, thought it was something like thatAs I understand it (and I'll likely be corrected!) the Arkansas Made Dozier shop is run by someone under Bob--it was Dan Crotts, and might still be.
The Doziers (St. Paul), are made by Mr. Dozier himself or at least with his heavy involvement.
Dan Crotts is his stepson. He runs the Arkansas Made Dozier shop, and makes his own line of knives as well. Bob’s secrets, at least concerning the crafting of fine knives, will not go with him to the grave. Justsayin.Bob's 'Springdale' and 'St. Paul' marked knives are 'sole authorship'. His folders have supposedly never been made by anyone but him, machining them is difficult. Any Dozier will cut for days, his 'exotic steel' St Paul stuff is most interesting. Hopefully Bob leaves behind his notes on the HT processes he has developed, no one 'does it better' at affordable prices.
It ain't Bob, and Dan recently told me the same. From what Dan told me awhile ago he doesn't run the Springdale shop anymore, but makes his own knives. Bob focuses primarily on his St. Paul shop and the folders, I'm not sure who's running the Springdale shop (Arkansas Made Dozier) nowadays though.
