Posting pics of these two Doziers (well, one's a Dozier/Kressler collaboration) for a friend to take a look at, hope you enjoy. I've posted these before but thought they'd go well together in a new thread just focusing on both of these since they both have stag handles.

First up is a Dozier/Loveless Style Hybrid that Bob made earlier this year.

Next up is the Dozier/Kressler collaboration. Bob and Mr. Kressler made ten of these last year at Bob's new shop in St. Paul, Arkansas.

I didn't get to go to the Blade Show this year :( BUT I did get to tour his new shop in St. Paul last August, missed seeing Mr. Dietmar Kressler there working with Bob on those ten knives by a week. Still, it was great to see the shop and watch Bob work, also got to visit with Wayne Hendrix the first day I was there

The CTS 40 steel he's using is identical to the elements of 440C yet with powder metalurgy. Which is an upgrade. You should enjoy it. DM

You're exactly right Dave. Bob has said he get's a great polish out of it, and I definitely do enjoy it. They're a treat to own and use.

I've always enjoyed working with 440C, a good steel. Now 440XH and CTS-40 both, off shoots of the former with better features. DM

Bob does a good job with those knives. I got the impression from the writing in A.G. Russell's catalogs that Bob had gone away from the presentation-class knives and I supposed he did for awhile. I have 7 Doziers in my collection and all of them have satin finish blades, and only 3 of the 7 have wood scales, the rest are micarta. I was buying a lot of hunting knives 15 or so years ago and managed to buy an older Dozier with polished blade and bolsters and stag scales, the type knife that he hadn't made in awhile. It was a very nice knife but not completely per my exact tastes. I took it with me to a knife show that I thought Bob would be attending in order to find out about it. Bob and his wife were excited to see the knife and showed me an old photo of a similar knife in his scrapbook. He apparently did not make a lot of them and having sold all of them he did not have one of his own. He managed to trade me a couple of his current knives for it. I traded him based on exactly what I had paid for the knife a few years before. He was happy to have it back.
