This knife was my first from Bob Dozier. Had wanted one since I first saw it in an early issue of Tactical Knives. Its made of D2. Scales are Micarta. Blade length is 3.5". I had the sheath modified to cut off some unnecessary kydex. It attaches horizontally to my belt.

I understand this was a Loveless design and was originally know as the Riverside Hideout.

Hello again Deputy Tom,

This is like Sophie's Choice, i.e., having to choose between your children. I guess I like the Agent better because the blade has more belly and the format of the blade is more utilitarian. I don't make it a practice to use my nives in the presence of other, but if it happened that a co-worker saw the Agent, they would be more accepting than if they saw the NY Special's more "tactical" blade format. The Agent's handle is also more hand filling.

Another Dozier that seems to have quite a following is the Arkansas Toothpick. This knife has the same blade format as the NY Special with a slightly larger handle. By the way, the NY Special is only available through A. G. Russell. They also offer the Arkansas Toothpick. All three models go for about $220.

What did you friend pay for his Agent at the gun show?

Bill, another great explaination.Thank you.I believe it was right at $200.00.The dealer is a friend of ours and I wandered to that booth just as they were finishing up the transaction. The dealer usually discounts from the advertized prices. He is a great guy to buy from.Too bad he lives so far away.It would be good to visit him regularly to handle the various knives he gets in instead of every couple of months.tom.

Willyboy,
You made a good choice, it's a great looking knife and will last you a lifetime.
I have a KS-7 Wilderness Knife, the Professional guide, a Arkansas Toothpick, a Model-6, and last but not least the Streight Personal.

I love ALL Bob Doziers knives and Alicia on the phone is such a sweet sounding person and will bend over backwards to get you what you want.

Ciao
Ron
