Been looking at this knife for a while. I want a general purpose, hard using knife. Will be using it for mainly outdoor activities. Does anyone own one of these? If so, what are your committs? Thanks

I'm interested as well. Anyone have a link to Dozier's webpage(if he has one) or a picture of the Ranger?

Yeah! Drop the chalupa...

I got a Ranger from knifeart.com last month. I told people it's the most scary sharp knife and two days after I accidentally cut my fingers (that's my only Y2K problem).

The knife is strongly built and is begging to be used. I will take it camping this summer.

I believe you'd never be disappointed with a Dozier. Below is a picture of my Ranger

Thanks for the reply. On your knife, I believe Knifeart at it listed at a 5 .5 inch blade. On dozier's site, it is listed as 6 1/8 inch. Can you tell me the dimensions of your knife? Thanks

I own a few of Bob's knives - a lot of knife for the $, not like some customs.

I don't on a Ranger, BUT if I had the extra $ laying around I would LOVE one. The Dozier line is affordable, rugged, and pretty darn sharp out out the 'box'.

RBean, I've just measured the knife. 5.5" blade, 11.5" overall.

Thanks, Ray. This one is a real keeper.

I have two Doziers, and I love them. However, if you're looking for a general-purpose knife, I'd rethink the Ranger. Am I right that it has a sharpened false edge? If so, it's less a utility knife than a fighting knife, and might be difficult to use under normal useage. The sharp false edge is a potential hazard, and is a plus mostly in stabbing use. (IMHO)

You can have the false edge sharped or not, buyers choice. I ended up with the light verion with fingergrooves and a sharped false edge. Not a great camp knife, but it does dance in my hand.
