Yet another choice between 2 knives.... DPx Heat or the Wilson combat ELC..
DPx:
titanium and G10 scales. framelock.
D2 steel
2.26" blade
6.33" overall

ELC:
g10 scales. linerlock stainless steel.
Elmax steel
3.5" blade
7.5" overall

Guys please help! I have a buget of $150 and wish to get a Strider smf one day... until then.. Im just buying nicer production knives..

Benchmade 755 MPR, Spyderco Techno, Boker Nano (and subsequently the real deal Curtiss Nano if you can stretch the budget a little), and the Quartermaster QTR-1 Murdock are both pretty similar to the HEAT. The HEAT is a great little chubby knife, though and has the thickest blade of the "big small" knives I've seen.

This was meant to be posted 8 hours ago but just after i finished, the damn wifi went out: Ya? Those are kinda what im into. Ive been looking into the Qtrmstr and thought it over and over. As of right now (while im employed by the neighbor) and have some money to spend, (only 14) im trying to get better knives, not saying the cryo 2 is bad.

I just bought one of these, should have it Friday. The BM 755 MPR is cool but the tip down only clip ruins it for me. I prefer g10 scales versus all Ti, as its just to slippery to me, plus it gets cold and wet up here in the Chi which is not conducive for metal handles, especially full Ti. I'll let you know how I like the HEAT when I get it. I got the OD green.

Love the DPX HEST. Would have a hard time believeing the HEAT would be anyless quality of a knife. Very solid, slicey, quality.

I guess I'll have to on the other side. I bought a one of the HEST2 and it was developing blade rock after 48 hours of opening and closing (only computer paper cutting but no wailing on it).

I have the techno and it is a great little knife, one of my favorites for under a 3" blade. I put a lanyard on mine and loop it around my little finger, but even without a lanyard the grip is good. The spyderco native v is also a stout knife, the dice looks nice too, but I don't own one yet.

If I could only have one knife and it had to have a 3" blade or less it would be the techno.

I bought a DPX Heat today after fondling one at GP Knives a few times. I don't go higher too often, and this is the coolest small knife I have seen n a long time. It has a big handle and a small blade even though it does not look disproportionate. Mine is coated D2, although I would have liked Sleipner. I won't buy another, they cost too much to collect. It's not a lightweight, but it is plenty compact. I'm going to love it as a work or low key EDC.
