I know there not really the same, but i love them both but i cant decide what knife to buy. the hest has the bottle opener thing to use as a wave, but the paramilitary has a ffg blade. I cant decide. I know they dont really have anything in common but, any feedback would be epic. thanks!!!

Yep wrong place, but I will oblige you anyways :) I have both, and both have their +s. The para 2 is an amazing knife, it's pretty light for what you get. Tough as hell, comfy in hand, and a perfect blend of form and function. It is so popular for a reason. Buttery smooth and solid lock. I carry mine most of the time. The DPX is a cool design, and the bottle opener works great as a wave. The blade shape is pretty utilitarian and D2 is good stuff. I love the solid titanium side and the low ride clip. However it is sticky out of the box and the lock is hard to dissengage. It takes some brake-in time, and is not always easy to opperate one handed. It does have some nice extra features like glass braker and a hole for driver bits. The pivot however losens up pretty quickly, and would require some locktite. While I do like the knife I find that I don't carry it very often. Considering the price of each I would say you would be better served going with the para, you won't regret it.

What do you plan on using them for...EDC? If EDC, the PM2 is near perfect.

looks like ill get the para, thanks, ill try the general forum next time i need something like this, you guys rock, i love this place

The Para 2 is probably my favorite knife, for the reasons already listed by members, great choice.

Paramilitary 2 for sure! I've got one and I EDC it every day. Take the one with the S30V steel. It holds an edge very long and it is easy to sharpen imo.
The Hest is to bulky to EDC.
