About to pull the trigger. Want a better work knife for clipping onto my scrubs that is light and sharp. This seems to fit the bill. I have the UKPK. I like it. Just want something different. Obviously I am not going to carry my Sage 1 or CRK small Insingo w/micarta. I always go back to Spyderco. Thanks, Sal!
Show your pics of it in use or however you want. FYI-Most excited for the Southard! Bring it on Spyderco!

I got one in my laptop backpack. I use it to open boxes and cut plastic wrap everyday for about three weeks. I haven't sharpened it yet. I want to see how long the factory edge holds before putting a polished razor edge on it.

The dragonfly rules. Esp the new version (Own n use all of em). Would love a zdp (want dont need).
Buy it, seperate endless amounts of matter, be :)

Aside from the ZDP-189 ( which has killer edge retention and cuts like crazy ) it has one of the most attractively colored handles you can get on a spyderco IMO. There's just something about British Racing Green that I like. also the Dragonfly is quite comfortable for a smaller knife and a great main EDC blade or backup.

The ZDP Dfly2 probably gets more pocket time than any other knife I own. It is a beauty and it keeps an edge for a long time. Some folks complain about how difficult it is to sharpen ZDP. I never have any issues at tall - sure ZDP is hard, and it takes a little longer to sharpen - but it isn't any more difficult. It just takes a few more strokes. ZDP also responds well to a daily/weekly touch-up on the fine stones to keep its razor edge.

Enjoy!

I love mine.
Small, super light. Yet it still has great ergos, I have big hands and can get a 4 finger grip on it.

As good as ZDP is, once you start sharpening you will find scratches on the blade. I don't know if I have poor sharpening skills, but the scratches on the blade make it look more worn out than it actually is,....could be a good thing for some people, but just thought I'd put it out there.

You should also consider the g10 Dragonfly, its the same price with VG10 steel

Dragonfly2 "cut-off Calypso" blade profile allows it to cuts like a 3" knife. I took the clip off and it became a new in-pocket resident, gave LB zdp away. Mine is at 20* inclusive, it gives clean shave and serves as a scalpel. I did some tests (tip lost few mm): 30* inclusive angle is good for edc. Use 40* inclusive micro-bevel can take on hard-cuts/slices. 50* for light chopping (hmm obviously wrong tool for this).

LB ZDP? Thanks for the advice. Do you guys do the 30 degree first then the 40 degree micro?

Ha. It's late, I'm an idiot! How are you brother?? Was going to email you. What's new? The techno is calling my name I think. Growing on me! Email me if you want...or pm.

I'm also very interested in the zdp Dragonfly 2. Anyone know if it throws sparks well from a firesteel? I have a Ladybug 2 in VG10 and an F1 (also in VG10), and they throw sparks like mad. I'm new to ZDP, though.

I got one just for the British racing green, used/using it for edc and it works great
Had to reprofile it due to very uneven bevel

Bump. Ready to buy one again. Thoughts? Bought my son the wooden Dragonfly kit for Christmas. It's pretty awesome. Hmm VG-10, ZDP or the green G-10? Hmm Best price?? Thanks

The dragonfly 2 zdp is one of the greatest spydercos ever made. Mine gets TONS of pocket time (removed the clip, small paracord lanyard) -- might be my most carried knife ever. How do you not own one yet?

;)
