Just wondering if anyone carries a Dragonfly without the clip (ie down in pocket with keys, change, etc.). If yes, then how is it holding up? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Hello. I recently bought a superblue dragonfly. The clip was removed in the first ten minutes out of the box. I like the wire clip but i prefer to carry it in the pocket. I alway seem to snag clips. The frn shows no wear or scratches yet but the outer laminate stainless scratches easily. No problem for me as it is a user. Another benefit is it makes a superlight knife even lighter and much slimmer. I think Spyderco did a great job with this knife.

I carry my Dragonfly clipless, alone in the 5th jeans pocket. Even mixed in with your other odds and ends it should hold up fine. The blade will show some scratches from keys but it should ride comfortably at around 1 ounce. I swapped the unused dragonfly clip onto a Spyderco Junior and both knives are improved for my uses.

I took the clip off of my Dragonfly and my Chaparral. I do not understand the need for clips on smaller knives. It makes the whole package so much thinner and cleaner.

I don't carry a Dragonfly, but I carry a Kiwi which has no clip in my watch pocket and a larger Spyderco with the clip removed loose in my back pocket every day. Never had a problem, but the only thing they ever share a pocket with is lint.

I've had my G10 Dragonfly, Urban, and Chaparral all without clips for a few years. No ill effects on any of them. I think going clipless makes them, especially the Dragonfly, easier to carry.

I carry almost all of my DragonFlies clipless deep in my front left pocket. They hold up just great - no perceptible wear above and beyond normal usage. These are tough little big knives!

One thing I like to do with some of my DFlies is to put a short (2 in.) lanyard on them. This gives my hand more purchase on the knife if I have to grip it in cold or wet conditions. Plus, they look kinda cool. All these lanyards are made with basic paracord and have Atwood LanSlide beads tied with "diamond" knots.

I did the same on my Dragonfly. Short lanyard w/ Atwood Lanslide. I keep the clips on mine though.
