I got a shipment of knives today. I'm on Daddy Duty tonight, and when my 6 year old daughter saw it, she immediately asked for it.

I couldn't say no. She's blown away by the orange color, the grip and I think she even likes the little "Spyder".

She can open and close it safely, two-handed. She can (just) open it one handed, but that will come with time.

Cool. She took a great knife from ya. Great to see people who still teach their kids at a young age to enjoy knives and handle them safely

It's obvious who rules the roost. No doubt she's learned from her dad. As a father, you're teaching her the important things she needs to learn ;).

Sounds like my son in a way. He’s three and has seen my mini grip on countless occasions so now he refers to it as my “butterfly knife” lol

She is a girl of discerning tastes! Well done.

My 4 yr old son loves my D-Fly. That small grip fits perfectly in his hand and whereas I need the choil to make it fit my hand, he can choke back, just like your dau in your pics, or he can move up into the choil for increased control.

Mine is the OD G10 version. Once we established that he'd get one, we looked at the available colors, and he has decided he wants a yellow one, so the next time it comes time to buy a knife, looks like i'm getting a yellow H1 D-Fly.

P.S.- Just look at that face! Those are eyes that say "Screw you dad, you're not getting it back!"

I think I owned a purple Dragonfly for all of two minutes before it was requisitioned by my wife. They're great "beginner" knives given the size but are supremely capable little buggers.

Exactly so. It fits her hand just like the Delica fits mine!

Yellow is also a fine choice. I looked up the H-1 blade steel, and it is not that good at holding an edge; that's the only thing that kept me away from it.

To me, that look said: "Haha, I pulled it off!"

I think I might have to put another in my next order. The pocket clip makes it seem a little fat, but I keep thinking that without it, it would make an excellent pocket knife, when I don't want that tactical look... Maybe this in my hip pocket, and a Vic Classic in my watch pocket for scissors, toothpick, tweezers and a light duty pry bar..
