Just wondering... How sturdy is the clip on the lightweight Dragonfly? I've never met a plastic clip that was strong enough to last more than a few weeks. Should I just get a stainless model(which I assume is a detachable metal clip)?

BTW, I just ordered an orange EMT remote release from Ironstone... Can't wait for it to get here! Spydie #2...

Oh my! Strange night. Harry Potter #4 is on the shelves, and they're letting people in at 12:01 AM. The local news has a Harry countdown timer on the screen! Fools... I ordered it from Amazon.com, no waiting in front of a bookstore!

The lightweight Dragonfly seems sturdy to me. I like the stainless steel better, though. A real solid little knife, very well put together. Prices are about the same. Why not get them both?

Powells' employee? Which branch? Hawthorne I know was doing the pajama discount. Portland is pretty weird in general. Sorry i can't address your question directly, but i have had an old style Endura w/ zytel clip that has lasted for years. Don't see the dragonfly clip being much different. The difference is that zytel is a reinforced polymer (glass, I think), which is stronger then most cheap plastics, and it can take the flexing with out to much stress.

Anyway, enjoy either way. E

OK, I must've confused you... I don't work at a bookstore or anything, I'm just laughing at the people I was watching on the news... And I've never really been that happy with Powell's. Sure, it's a nice place, but they are WAY overpriced on almost everything! There are occasional good deals though - I got an EMT quick-ref type of flip-book for about $5 less than normal retail prices. But most of the time it's pretty bad, at least when looking at some of the used book prices. There's not much helping the new book prices. I got quite a suprise while in Victoria BC on vacation when I looked in the phone book and saw Powell's Technical in there! Certainly a good resource for what would otherwise be very hard to find books of some sorts. But enough of the book stuff.

I guess I just have to try both! Oh well. Gotta wait until the credit card empties out a bit though
