Dragonfly Slippit?

Hi,

So the UKPK I have seems to scare most people in my office. I think the Dragonfly would be a good size, but currently the closest is the Urban. Are there plans for a Dragonfly sized slippit? Would anyone else be interested in this?

Cheers,
Jon

Somewhere out there, I'd bet there's still a dealer or three with a Pride collecting dust. Personally, I think it's the broad blades, not the size that non-knife people react negatively toward which is why I found both the UKPK and Urban rather odd. Have you considered the Grasshopper? Steel is nothing to get excited over but if Bug is any indication it does hold an edge pretty decently. My gut tells me the narrower blade might go over better. There's also a SlipIt Kiwi on the way, also a narrow blade. I worked in a government office and nobody ever found any of my locking ones frightening.

I'd also suggest the Grasshopper. While it's not as robust a knife as the Dragonfly, it's quite adequate for an office environment. That said, I've never had issues with my Dragonfly in the office. That's about as big a blade I'd use in the office but I keep my Caly3 or equal sized backup close at hand for emergencies. Once I leave the office the Caly3 goes back in my front right pocket.

I carry the grasshopper and the UKPK, as they are the only knives I have that are legal to carry without a reason. Don't like the grasshopper much - think it's the blade shape. I like the feel of the G10 Dragonfly, and think a slippit version would hit the spot for the UK market.

I can't argue, the G10 D'fly is a great handling little knife, and I also agree it would fill a niche for the UK market. Let's hope Sal and the gang hear your cry!
Regarding the Grasshopper, I like the shape and size was EDCing it a lot more when I first got it. I've recently gone back to using the H1 Ladybug as my backup EDC mainly due to it's ease of deployment compared to the Grasshopper, which is much stiffer and doesn't have as big a Spydie hole for one-handed operation.

Take care!
