Dragonfly woes

Anyone else here loose their Dragonfly when edcing? i carried 2 religiously for several years. The first lasted about 2 years and then disappeared out of my pocket. I traced steps that day and the days prior; checked LnF at work.....No such luck. I really liked it for EDC tasks (desk job), and my employer has a 2.25" blade length restriction. I have lg hands, but it just felt right. I have other options when bigger tasks come my way, but the dragonfly was just about perfect for my edc needs. So I got another one. That lasted about 1.5-2 years then went missing. They are light and fairly hard to notice when carrying. I wish the pocket clip was deeper as that may have been the reason I lost them. I noticed swinging my office bag knocked it you a couple times where I did notice and recovered it. Is there a deep wire pocket clip aftermarket option? I've seen some, but it is not clear if meant for a dfly or the larger models. Looked a bit long for the dragonfly and of course without the knife to lay it up against, it is hard to tell. Sooo, should I get another one? Seems like they are about 70-80 bucks which means with my track record it is a ~40$ per year subscription. Spyderco is my local knife maker so I am partial and really don't want another model.

IWB might be an option for you. It doesn't work for me (they tend to squirm out and have nearly been lost). Another, more unconventional option is if you wear button-front shirts, to clip it into the placket between two buttons. Much harder to lose in the manner you describe, especially if the shirt's tucked in.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've lost a favored alox SAK with just loose pocket carry. I bike commute a fair amount, and ride mtb trails often. Never really thought about iwb carry. At that point, one is flirting with what can be construed as 'concealed carry' as a belt will generally conceal the clip. I have carried a cutting tool for the better part of the last 35 years. Mainly SAKs to avoid legalities or headaches, but find when I do, I have a convenience / need for a OHO given some task. Cheers

I lost my 1st one, a serrated edge salt in my garden. I replaced it and also its short pocket clip with a longer one from a Chaparral. Otherwise I would also just carry them in the bottom of a pocket.

Try a lanyard with a LARGE bead.. makes it more noticeable if it decides to "Fly away". I've posted a picture of mine on spyderco.com Forum under EDC and what's in your pocket today. Mine has a titanium lanyard bead with tritium bios so if I drop it at night I'll be able to find it

I would post a picture of it here if I could figure out how to upload it.. hahaha any suggestions?

One method I forgot: collar carry. FRN Dragonflies are light enough for this, and if carried at the centerline, accessible with either hand. The thickness of Dragonflies might make this uncomfortable, though.

Sorry to hear that dude. Same thing happened with my original PM2. Thing just up and walked away.
