Dragon's Breath Damascus and Desert Ironwood Burl

Absolutely gorgeous, but the notches on either end of the thumb jimping seem unnecessary to me...

They just seem to break up the flow of the spine too much in my eyes, all I'm saying...still a beautifully executed piece that I'd be proud to own:)

You done it again TK, another gorgeous knife and sheath.

No problem at all - everyone's different my friend........as they say: "One man's trash is another man's treasure." :)

nice tim ! i would have been very nervous grinding that damascus :D

Thanks John - that billet from Joe Burke was $450 - his Dad, Bill charges around $900 according to the client. I don't get too nervous with expensive materials - I guess I'm desensitized to it from working on $400 mammoth and walrus ivory materials.

After grinding, sanding to 1200 grit, etching, and polishing the blade, I etched my maker's mark, perfectly centered on the PRIMARY GRIND in front of the ricasso. The one and only time I've ever done that in 10 years of making knives - and I did it on a $450 billet. Talk about wanting to break out and eat rat poison! :( I had to regrind, and start all over......no harm, no foul.
