Hi everyone . This is my latest knife . The customers wish was a big , "battlelike" kitchen knife :D , with twisted damascus, dragons and ancient oak . Here is the result :) I hope you will like it .. :)

Drako Battlechef

Blade - Damascus steel 1,2842 (O2) + 75ni8 Uddeholm (15n20)
Guard - 1,2842 (O2) steel + 75ni8 Uddeholm ( 15N20 ) + carved bone
Handle - Handle- It is an oak from 11 century. It was found beneath the square of Republic in the Olomouc city during archeological research. It was a part of horse stables. The datacion is correct because the tests was made by dendrological laboratory during the archeological research. It was found in the same manure layer as golden denar of Ota I. Sličný. I have it directly from archeological team leader.
Average length - 37 cm cm (approx- 14,5 inches) , blade - 22 cm (approx- 8,7 inches).
Blade width at widest point 52 mm (approx 2 inch ) mm , blade thickness 5 mm (0,2 inches).

Nice work man. How many layers was each Damascus bar before twisting
It was like 37-39 layers before twist :)

BTW - You can count it if you want :) find some star in second row from edge(those are most opened and are complete) and count the bright lines crossway . Make it double for the black lines and you have approx number of layers on twisted bar :) you can add 2 or so before you start because some of them you can grind out cleaning billet between welds. It depends on how many layers you would start with and how many times you would clean and fold :)

Thanks! Ya I was curious how many you started with and then how many got ground away. I was just trying to count and had the picture all zoomed in and now my eyes hurt haha
