Dreaming of a 3 JK knife set

Looking at the latest three knives John posted in the 'almost ready to ship' thread I was thinking those three would make for a good 'all the knives one would need for life' set.
As we all know, no one knife will be perfect at all tasks, so what would be your choices for a set of 3 of John's offerings, past or present, to last the rest of your life doing your cutting chores and done up with the options you'd like?

My choices would be The Tool as my heavy utility GP knife...just the way it is..with a 5" blade, 1/8" thick, saber ground with rounded spine + jimping and tan micarta over orange liners with solid 1/4" brass pins & a brass lanyard tube for the handle with about 1/4" of exposed tang.

A Scandi Pocketmuk for light utility work/skinning/kitchen duties in 3/32 stock, rounded spine with the same handle materials, but 1/8" brass pins & no lanyard tube.

And a Big ass R.U.S.K. for wood processing,(love the recurve) saber ground in 3/16" stock, rounded spine, with the same handle materials as the Tool & Pmuk, but with flared 1/4" brass tubes vs solid pins.

If I was more into cooking I'd swap the R.U.S.K. for one of the chefs knives, but I'd rather chop a log than carrots :p and could make do with the Pmuk & Tool in the kitchen for my limited kitchen cutting.
That new one of Kokoshawnuff's sure is nice, but I think I'd rather have the straighter edge and slight upsweep at the tip of John's.

OK,lets hear it,what 3 JK knife set would you have if money was not an issue?

Edit to add..JK hawks' n hatchets can be part of a set.

For me it would be the Iris for every day chores, and the Camp 8 for a heavy duty workhorse. My third choice might be a bit unusual, but I chose the Panfish. It would work well for food prep, or in the field as a fishing or game processing tool.

Good question, Myke, different way of thinking about the "grail" almost.

1. JK Rover in 3/32" or 1/16" (hasn't been done yet :)) for general edc in and out of town in a modern world
2. JK TK for an actual edc for everything, I like the 3/32" scandi version myself, great in the kitchen and the woods
3. I might say one of the hawks but since we're sticking with knives I have to admit I'm not sure. In the all around camp/kitchen type knife area, tried a few, liked all of them a lot, but haven't decided on one yet. The Tool is on the list of them to try next along with with Number 9, one of Mqqn's Bowie designs, maybe the rifleman design I've sent John but not been able to have made yet, A slightly thicker version of the Fisherman knife I had once in 1/16", not sure

Yup - ggod question- especially since I have none so far

But - I have asked for a Rule #9 for a late July delivery.

So then (in order of size and for various uses assuming that I will also be carrying a pocket clip Spyderco or 2)

1) Toby's Knife

2) Rule#9

3) XD XT Modern Bowie

These are all - IMHO - beautiful as knives can be and unique although they are all derivative of great knives that came before. With these 3 all manner of wood craft, fine food prep, and survival tactics are possible.

They would need to be all ordered with the same scale material - I like Green heart or Jatoba (which I could provide :).)

After seeing the new Cook's Knife, I would like some sort of kitchen trifecta in Desert Ironwood.

I edited the op to include hawks & hatchets Pete.

Cook`s Knife, Chef`s Knife, and 1/16" thick Toby`s Knife. I`ve been thinking the same thing.

RayseM has listed what I was thinking initially (before we had a hawk option...)

For small use, a quick access necker with a slicer blade, my choice would be a 1/16" Riverwoods Companion or the similar Mini Potawatomi with polished black linen micarta scales, and glow liners to make it easier to find it in the dark if dropped.

For heavy duty use, the XD XM Modern Bowie....and I would use it and the sheath just the way it was made on the first build.

and finally, I would have the Defensive Battle Hawk in an over the shoulder rig - I still need to get John to get a nice rig made, or with another sheath maker.

There are many other fine options, the Trapline is a great knife, the Tool is a great knife - I would also think about the mid sized XD XM Bowie as my mid sized knife. Finally, the venerable JK Kephart is a great and proven choice, lots of great options in this category.

Another link to info about the Treeline and Trapline from outdoorsfan

if I were picking a small, medium and large knife, I would go with a Beast or JK Kukri - probably leaning toward the Beast, it proved to be a BEAST!. Click link for the JK Big Chopper Passaround.

Love the Panfish!
For another set I'd go with a Panfish,a Hudson BayXL (miss that bad boy) & for the kitchen..the Chef's Knife.

Rule #9, I still haven't found a better knife, The 2014 Anniversary knife(we need to name it) and a hunter's hatchet.
There are many others of course but with those I'd be able to handle most things.

- A Belt Hawk, preferably with a slightly longer handle than standard.
- Hiker, not going to do better for an all around woods-bumming blade.
These two would handle any situation I would encounter under normal conditions. I f I were to add a third knife to complete the set it would be a Victorinox Farmer.
