Steel: 1095 and 15N20, about 300 layers

Hardness: 59-ish

Blade length: 4.5"

Handle material: Ivory Micarta

This is the first time I've used ivory micarta, and it definitely won't be the last! I like it.

Thanks for looking!

Nice Phillip, though I'm not a micarta fan.

You are making some very interesting and beautiful damascus patterns.

WOW, just WOW!!!

Phil, only thing i'd like to see is some mosaic pins for that extra bling bling :D

very nice, sir! Now I am just the opposite. I would prefer it to have Corby bolts so you don't see the bolt in the center. How did you get the thick and thin layers of 1095? Did you use differnece thicknesses of stock?

i like that pattern in the steel. its pretty wild. if you ever do that same pattern with some of that 1075...:D

I love it! Little things like how around the finger, the rivet is ground the same amount on both sides make this one great!

Thanks you everyone for the king comments! :)

I have some corby bolts, but I don't have the right countersink bit. I really should get one...
I used 1/8" 1095, with the 1/16" 15n20. Then the two outside layers were 5/32" 1095. The thickest lines you see are where the outside layers got doubled up when I stacked the billet for the subsequent welds.

Thank you! Symmetry is something I try very hard to achieve. Don't always make it, but I try. :)

It's here! (well, it's at home, but home was "here" last night...)

No, no new pics yet. :p Ivory paper micarta feels very nice. The pictures don't/can't show how well this knife was made. The damascene pattern on the blade is a sight of its own. The edge is quite sharp, too. The handle looks like it might have some uncomfortable angles, but once it's in hand, you'll feel guilty for having such a thought.

Thanks Phillip!
