Some great customs are in store for the lucky hogs that will make it to Blade. Too bad I can't make it... Or else I would be all over that SH1A Nuclear Heart.

I decided to play around with my skeleton key since I had to some time to kill anxiously waiting for the blade ganza. I never really liked the feel of it so I decided to put some handles on it. While I was at it I tried to put a satin finish on it and also reground the edge. It now sports micarta handles and the edge has been reprofiled to zero edge making it a much more efficient cutter.

I never really had interest in the SKs but that one has me having second thoughts. Great job bro. :)

Although they are stealthy and certainly have their place, the skelly's never felt quite right to my hands. Bet thats a sweet lil cutter now!

Thanks for the encouraging words. Yeah, the Skeleton Key is so darn skinny that it never really felt right to my hands. Also, the blade is so narrow for its thickness that it made the edge geometry very obtuse. Not a great cutter or slicer by any means. It now feels like a totally different beast with the new handles. Still not as comfy as a GW but still very comfy for cutting tasks. The zero edge is in my opinion about ideal for this little narrow blade. It cuts very efficiently now. I was originally thinking about selling it but I me thinks it is a keeper now. BTW, did I mention that it now makes for a seriously sharp little sticker now ;)

Very nice job  I did not like the SK much, but after the modification it looks like a handy little blade. Nice micarta!
