Dressing up a production folder ??

I’m looking to do a small project by dressing up a couple SS Spyderco’s. I’m planning on putting on scales of a nice stabilized burl and/or mammoth ivory on top of the SS already there. My question is will using the standard epoxy I’m using for scales now (Acraglas gel) be sufficient enough to adhere the scales to the stainless without using pins?

Does anybody know a good source for mammoth ivory? I’ve tried Yekim but his email bounced back.

i have done over lays that way on some knives, teture both sides so the epoxy has something to hold on to leaving a border of 3/8ths and use small c-clamps with even pressure, you can get5ton devcon at a hwstore. goodluck,,

Thanks for the response Rhinoknives. I've seen Devcon 2 ton I'll look out for 5 ton.

Anyone got a lead on Mammoth Ivory? I called K&G, they have some, just looking for other sources as well.

Try Boone Trading, their address is in that list of suppliers. I bet if you run a search on suppliers in this Forum you can find it.
