Does anybody out there know where I can get an American made drill press and Vertical metal cutting band saw.If not American made it can be made in (Canada,Germany,etc.).Absolutely no (China,Japan,or Taiwan).Thank-You

Try going to sears for the drill press. I have a 15 year old 17 inch craftsmen that I've beat the hell out of and it still runs fine.

It's ashame, but virtually all equipment, till you get into the big bucks, is made in china now. Even Delta's tools are chinese. Look at anything sears sells, it's all chinese too. I was wanting to buy a smithy brand lathe mill drill and did a little research. Guess what?? They're made in china too! Unless you make your own or buy big time gear, you just about have to buy chinese. Take care! Michael

Hi! first time poster here. I Use a Milwaukee brand porta-band. I made a small bracket to hold it upright on my workbench and replaced the workstop with a 4"X4" aluminum work table. Blades where I live run about $19.00 for three and come in various pitches, they are also bi-metal. The saw runs around $300 new but you can find them used cheaper. Another nice thing is that they take up very little space and are cutting machines.

they do run good, and if you can't afford a jet vertical bandsaw with a welder and grinder that costs $3,000, then your better off just starting with that. i hope to one day get the mentioned bandsaw.

One real good source of decent tools are estate auctions. If you look in newspapers they usually list whats being sold and you can figure if a lot of antiques are listed as well as tools, the sale will attract a lot of antique buyers and the tools will go fairly cheap. last week bought a 1hp belt driven 2 stone grinder for $10, be nice to have 2 buffers instead of 1. I also got a fair compressor for $25. Just remember, an older tool can still be a servicable tool.
