Well i was at a pawn shop today and i spoted a central machinery drill press with a modle number 34231. it looks sturdy and never used. everything is metal not like the new stuff where its plastic. onley has a 1/3 hp motor. it was a 12 speed drill but thay want 60 for it, is it worth that much. the table did not have a crank to rase and lower it but just a steel handle that would loosen the clamp and you would slide it up or down. i dont have any kind of drill and i did not know if i should get a cheep band saw or a dril press.

Why do you want such cheap tools? I did without for 7 years until I could get a good one. Now, I'll never have to buy another.

You need good tools to do good work.

Its not that i want cheep tools, it just all that i can afford. i just need some tools to get me throught the current batch of knives im doing and then once i sell them im hopeing to be able of get some better tools. but realy that dril press looked guite durable, it did not look anything like the one at harbor freight.

O my goodness, i just rember seeing a Makita 1 1/8" x 21" Belt Sander model 9031 for 15 bucks sitting at the pawn shop. i think it was just missing the patten, which i can order. i just did a serch for this sander and thay want 250 bucks for it new, holly crap im going back early to marow to get it. i rember thinking, man that would work sweet for making the finger groves in my handles. even on ebay thay are selliing for 209.00. the nice thing is that the Belt speed can be adjusted between 656 - 3,280 ft/min.

In that case, go for it!

And the sander sounds like a great deal. Most of my tools are used and bought at half of retail price. As long as it is a good tool doesn't matter how old. Good tools can be rebuilt. Junk is and always will be junk.

well i just went back and thay still had it :) . when i took it up frount to buy it thay did not want to sell it to me, thay told me that yhe price could not be 19 bucks. i told them it was and for them to check the sticker thay put on it. thay did and it had the modle and brand and price printed on it, so thay had no choice to sell it to me for that price. he told me that if he caught it he would have sold it for around 150. i got a steal of a deal. man it has a sween speed control, not the triger control like on most drils have but it has a little roller nob that controls the speed and it has a locking triger. the best thing is that because it such a high end unit i can get any parts i need for it. from here

Where i can get parts

Man this has a tone of power, im in love
