i have a kershaw chill pocket knife and i really like this knife for only being a $15 knife. i just wish that the pocket clip could be moved for lefties. on my particular knife it seems like all that you would need would to drill and tap small holes to be able to move the clip. does anyone know where i can take/send my knife for anyone to put the clip on the left side? or where to get small drill bits and taps?

or where to get small drill bits and taps?

If it was a more expensive knife, I'd certainly recommend consulting an expert, but with the Chill you wouldn't lose much by trying to do the work yourself. It'll go a lot easier if you have access to a drill-press, of course. Any hardware store worth their salt will sell appropriate drill-bits and taps...

Good luck and post some pics of the final result! :)

Although I am right handed, I did notice that the Chill is very easy to open and close with my left hand. Where are you located? There may be a local forum member who could help you out. I'm in the SF Bay Area (south).

I put some wood scales on mine. So I did drill and tap some holes in the liner to attach the scales. I can't find the clip and screws, but I think the screws may be metric. Anyways, it wasn't a problem to drill and tap holes in the liner. I used 1-72 button heads.

Home Depot or Sears spring to mind.

i think ill head to home depot in search of drill bits and taps. i have access to a drill press so i dont think this should be too challanging..

I think they are different. I used the 1-72s to attach the scales. I did not remount the pocket clip. If I can find the clip and screws, I can measure the threads. I'll see if I can find them tomorrow.

There are a lot of pocket clips that use a 2-56 screw. As far as where to get, try one of the knifeparts places such as, www.knifekits.com, and www.usaknifemaker.com. You can find all that you need. Keep in mind though that it might cost more to do the refit than the knife originally cost. But if you like it, then it is worth it to you to do.

try your local gunsmith

I couldn't find the old clip or screws. I maybe I'll take off the scales and see what size fits in the holes that the clip was attached to.
