Did you know that probably the best taping fluid for brass is water? Now there is a really old tip but perhaps will still be useful to someone. Frank
 
Another thing that is useful to know about drilling brass or plastic is to use scraper sharpened drills. Instead of a hooked cutting edge on the drill use a stone or just a cutoff wheel and flatten the sharp edge flat parallel to the length of the drill. You will be surprised how you can just "storm" through a piece of brass or plastic without having the drill grab in brass or cracking a piece of plastic.
Learned this about 60 years ago while hanging off a 50 foot crane using a hand crank drill putting holes in sign faces.
