Drilling Steel

Hey! Is a hand-held drill with the proper bit adequate for drilling 1/4" stainless barstock? Or will I need a drill press?

I would recommend a drill press. It will be easier and give you a nice straight hole.

A drill press will make your life infinitely easier. Check the papers for good condition used ones. I just picked one up yesterday for $45.
