I am looking for a good cheap .... ur ... make that a good source of cheap supplies. More specifically Taps in the 0-80, 1-72, and possible 2-56 sizes with there respective drill bits for the threads, for clearance holes, and for screw head diameter for contersinking.

Mostly finding around 3 to 5 dollars and up on the taps and 0.50 and up on drill bits. Is this about right or do I need to look someplace else.

Sounds about right, have you checked any of the larger industrial supply houses like MSC, Enco, or J&L? They all have some pretty good sales at times. www.mscdirect.com

Try Travers...

https://www.travers.com/index.asp

Order their catelog, it's over a 1,000 pages, and informative like a how-to...

Additionally, on the inside of their catalog is an insert that tells which taps and drills to use, and they list "like every" drill, from #80, through all the number, letter, metric, and decimal fractions up to one inch.... So if you ever wanted to know which drill is a "scooch" larger than 1/4", you can use a 6.4mm (it's 0.2520), or a 6.5mm (0.2559), or an "F" (0.2570)...

I covered my drill list in plastic and use it all the time in my shop...

If I had a scanner, I would scan it for the forum. I've seen many questions about which drill one should use...

Any case, good tapping...
