I haven't talked much about this here, but now that it is over, I wanted to share:

My brother is cancer free!

A little over a year ago, they found a huge tumor in his left humerus, about 4" below the shoulder joint. After 6 rounds of chemo, surgery to resect the mass, and another dozen rounds of chemo, he was given the green light today.

Words can not express what a relief this is for our family. So for those of you who are dealing with the Big C, chin up. A cure is possible.

Rick

Congrats!!! Thats great news!!!

I know how this sort of thing can affect a family; last year my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer. They caught it very early though and were able to remove it competely! Also a very big releif.

Pro tip for everyone - get yourself checked - it can make the difference between life and death!

Again, I know how you're feeling now dude, it's a good feeling! I'm happy for ya!

That's really great news Rick, I can only imagine the level of relief for you and your family !

.....and the hope it gives to those still fighting.

Damn, thats GREAT NEWS!!! :D:thumbup: Thanks for sharing this with us! :)

Fantastic news!

I doubt there is a man or woman here that has not had a family member deal with cancer. It's great to hear when there is a full recovery.

Thanks, everyone. Here is a picture of me and David:

Ignore the gal between us. She's just some pediatrician in Houston. Kidding, she's a classmate and this was at an alumni weekend event this October, the day before his 37th birthday. David is 6 years my junior, but we have the same alma mater (Trinity University).
