Driving from Central FL to Burke VA- Any knife shops I NEED to see?

Right after Christmas we are driving from North Central FL to Burke VA. I am trying to see if there are any knife shops I should go to along the way. We haven't picked a route yet, so I can probably detour a bit if needed, but I do think we are going to try and take mostly "back" roads. I rarely get out of Florida, so I have no idea.

I will also be going into DC for a day or so. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Bruce

-Hopefully this is a good section to ask in, if not please move to appropriate place.

Your obvious route would be up I-95 to the DC suburbs. I know of several knife shops that are out of your way a significant amount. So, no suggestions.

I was born and raised in Burke, VA. However, back then I wasn't into knives, so I don't have any knife shop suggestions for you. Sounds like a very fun trip. I hope the weather cooperates. Perhaps Jackknife would know of a knife shop in the area, as he recently moved from that part of the country. There is so much to see and do in DC. My favorite is the National Gallery of Art. The Air and Space Museum is cool. Ditto for the National Cathedral. Check out the Smithsonian for sure.

Hey that's pretty cool! I visited DC when I was a teenager, but that was 20yrs ago. My mom moved up there earlier in the year, so we are going to visit them. We will probably only spend one day actually in DC, so we will probably pick one museum to check out. We are really hoping for snow, as my wife and daughter have never seen it! My mom really enjoys it up there so far, but I don't know how she will do through the winter:eek:

KnifeCenter.com is in Fredericksburg, VA according to a search I just did. You'll go right past it if you take I-95. Not sure if they have a public store but the website provides directions on their "Contact Us" page so they probably do.
