Recommendation? Drop Forged Bowie 9 1/2" blade

Just received one today. The blade has a bow. Anyone else have one of these? If so, is your blade straight?

Yup, mine came with a little warp. It's not so pronounced that it won't fit into the sheath, but it's certainly there. I kept it because I bought it as a user and the price wasn't too high. So far it has not effected its usefulness.

Mine appears straight.

I laid the blade flat on a table on either side and it doesn't look warped.

Thanks! I have a replacement coming from Amazon. Hopefully it will be better.

The replacement was WAY worse than the original. Returned it and bought a Kershaw Camp 10

Correct on both points. Paracord wrap and cutting off the despised upper guard makes it much mo bettah! This is the I think now discontinued 6.75" blade version of the DF Bowie.

What i dont like is that the curve in the handle keeps the back of your palm away from it,its like its hanging in your fingers,and the curve of the rear of the guard gets in your way too .

I think the curve is kind of nice for a chopper. Overall the handle is a little anemic, so I added a cord wrap to mine and turk's head on the pommel for a little extra security. Much better now. Its pretty poor for reverse grip usage, but for the $80-ish I paid for a solid slab of 52100 I'm happy.

Mine seems fine . Added DIY swedge . Handle fits my medium hand size perfect and I like the semi-pistol grip .
