I was wondering if tennis racket wrap or plumbers silicon tape would work on a drop forged knife handle? Thanks in advance.

I used tennis racket wrap on a machete and it worked good.
I was thinking wrapped in a thin leather strip/s. Looks kinda like flat shoelaces but a little larger. Soak it and shrink it.?

should work but there is also products out now like re-grip. someone here used one of these type products and had good results. I seem to remember. give it a look.

I remember a thread concerning this very thing, but I can't find a thread search tool on here like most forums have.

I like the rayskin wrap. Too bad there doesn't seem to be a way to make bolt on G10 scales due to lack of holes. Still I hope to get the black version boot knife someday.

Some have used "ranger bands" or bicycle tubes cut into band like strips to wrap around the handle. And if you're on the fence about the drop forged boot knife- I say get it. It's really nice, especially for the price. Sheath is great too; though I replaced the boot clip with a CS "c-clip".

ETA: the CS website says that the large C-clips fit the boot knife. This is incorrect- the small size fits (smaller diameter mounting holes.)

At ACE you can get that rubber dip that is used on hammers and other tools. That would be my choice, and it comes in colors.

I've used Renfrew stretch grip on all my DF models.
Not pretty but works great and won't interfere with the sheath openings.
Self-adhesive so no residue if you decide you don't like it.
Renfrew makes more than one type so make sure to get the stretch version.
Works for me.
