For you guys who use drop leg pouches and blade rigs, what do you use for around your leg? just a section of webbing and a buckle?
I'm trying to organize a drop leg pouch for a FAK or something. looking for ideas.

Yep, just an adjustable section of webbing and a buckle - easily removed for standard trail hikes, but attached for canoe or snowshoeing trips.

Check out the MEC online store - they have a nice selection of buckles and straps in their pack 'maintenance and repair' section.

All the best,

- Mike

This is a rig that was made by River-8. It uses an adjustable piece of webbing. You could also use a fastex buckle if you so desired.

I have a couple rigs I've used in the past...HSGI is one of the better ones. I would try some shock-cord for a small section which allows it some give as you move around without being too tight or loosening up and flopping around.

I actually just let mine slap. I have a little grommet for tying it down, but it honestly doesn't bother me to slap my thigh as I go.
