Drop point Hunter

Here a full tang Brut de Forge drop point Hunter forged out of 100 year old steel.
The steel is quenched Japanese style (yaki ire) with clay and in water, the hamon is not clearly visible cause i didn't etched and polished it enough.
Also here you can see clearly the impurities in this old steel and the hammer stroke pattern (i call it the rain of arrowheads).
The scales are from striped tiger maple with red copper pins.
Full tang with convex edge.

Very cool and rustic looking blade! Do you know what the steels original purpose was.
 
Thanx guys and melsdad, yes i know where the steel came from,...i took it out of an old oven from a bakery (my own house) from 100 years old;)
