Drop Point LB7

am looking at this on the bay and was wondering is this semi rare? i have not seen a DP LB7 before so am thinking it will be a good addition to my collection. (now if only the shills don't see this post)

They were made in far fewer quantities than the production clip point LB-7's. With the "birdseye maple" covers, it was likely destined for a SFO such as the NAFC or NAHC. I believe that Mr. Vickery (lrv) has a finished example (with gold filled blade etch) that he can show us.

The DP was sold as seen and was also used as a SFO
Far fewer SFO's than plain.
Here is a plain. Note that the wood is darker than the ebay version.

There are also some in a birds eye maple which I believe the ebay 1 is.

Info on your set. in 10/94 4 separate sets were ordered by US Tobacco
the counts for each
Pro Rodeo set- 298, Bandit Race 308, Skoal Pulling circuit 96 and the Outdoors set 242 all had 152, 877 and LB7DP with the birds eye maple fibron handles.
and all had the box with glass cover.
There should be 2 sheaths 1 each for the 152 and LB7DP.
