Nice knife! The workmanship is very good, the handle is grippy, and sheath retention is strong. The handle feels comfortable and the blade is a scandi grind. Most people go for the Bowie, but I wanted a puukko blade.

I love simple designs like this. It's slim and can be tucked away easily. I can see this being a good utility blade on top of being a shank.

Hey Dogstar, I thought about getting this knife a while back. Is it basically a self defense blade or have you used it for edc at all. How long is the blade on your model? It is a beautiful, unique design. Thanks in advance

Thanks for your reply. It is primarily an SD blade. However, I have no reason to doubt it can be used for utility. It's basically a 4" scandi grind blade. The handle is skinny, so you wouldn't want to do a lot of hard cutting with it, but opening packages, cutting up food, zip ties, cardboard... why not?

At around the 10 minute point, he starts to use this knife in a bunch of different ways. Hopefully the 2022 models have better HT :)

Let me add, this seems like a design that probably doesn't sell a lot of units. My guess is it might be discontinued by GSM. Alternatives to look at are the Bird and Trout and the Bird and Game. They can be used in the same fashion, and they have a finger ring like a karambit ;) Also they are AUS8

I used the Spike in the kitchen today... it got the job done! Won't replace my FFG paring knife, but it wasn't bad either. Blade is still razor sharp after being introduced to my bamboo cutting board, so no unpleasant surprises.

The handle always threw me off. Seemed more pencil-like rather than knife handle. I prefer the Canadian Belt Knife for impromptu food prep.

Glad you’re happy with the new knife though.

Oh yes, I agree. The spike is halfway between a shank and a knife, so anything that is more knife-like will do better for most tasks. If the Spike is all you had on hand though, it'll do.
Those Peacemakers look super dope.
 They ARE. Like Rodney Dangerfield, they get no respect, but are good all around knives.
