Hey!
I guess with this forum back open, it is quite serendipitous that I should need it now. :)

I bought an XXX G10 S30V Leek off the boards here a while ago and it has been working
wonderfully til the other day.
I dropped it from waist while open on the carpet and now when open, it rattles like a loose bb
or something is inside it. Holding the liner lock open or closed does not change the sound. Only when the balde is fully closed does the rattle go away. The sound is up by the pivot, not the lock. Function/opening has not changed is any way so far.

any ideas? I can probably dig up some torx to get in there, but I'd rather not. :(

ok, whew!
I figured it couldn't be too bad, as it still opens correctly.
I was a bit spooked though, as I thought my favorite new pocket knife broke!

Thanks for such a quick reply, I appreciate it :)

A search on the subject will find some solutions from the Kershaw experts.

My one and only Leek rattles a little too, but man that thing sure opens with a snap. Thomas is correct, it's the torsion bar. A little grease to hold it in place is all that is missing. ;)

I noticed the rattle after I cleaned my son's scallion. I figured out what all that unnecessary grease was in between the scale and liner and had to take it back apart and put some grease back :)

Right there now, that's the answer, Ha.:thumbup:

Hey, did you guys know that sometimes the torsion bar inside a Leek rattles a little bit?? I hear it happens when ya clean out all that nasty grease that's inside there!:p:) JK!!

To me, that rattle is just one of assisted opening Kershaws' cute little character traits:thumbup:
