If you've priced your tactical or combat knife generously, I'm in the mood to lower your selling price for US and potentially NATO Servicemembers. Check the exchange if you're a Servicemember.
Please join me if you've done well in the past year and want to pay a bit forward.

Trying to fix an issue I developed last year. Tried to put $$$ on several generous sellers' threads last year, and may have prejudiced their sales because patriotic buyers wanted to pass the sale on to a Servicemember. I don't want to cost anyone a sale; just trying to reduce the price of entry for our nation's defenders.

Working on a solution here.

I'd like to establish a way to reduce the cost of a tactical or combat knife for Servicemembers. Especially over the Holiday season.

Any advice on how to make this work better will be most appreciated.

Any of my blades I have listed “for sale” I will lower the prices by $35 for any
US military active duty service member, no problem. I might ask for an ID but glad to help a Patriot out!
Been there, & glad to help.
Good thread!

I love everyone's willingness to help out service members. But, I do want to bring something to everyone's attention. Outside of rare circumstances like an insurance carrier, a US service member is not privileged to send a copy or photo copy of their military ID, and any copies possessed of the ID is a crime. Digital trails constitute as a copy....

Additionally, the digital trail presents a risk to the service member's safety due to hacking and letting the bad guys get their DOD info...

So my suggestion is to request an email from their DOD account.

I am just trying to cover everyone's as*.

The above comment is absolutely true and I request everyone respect/safeguard Servicemembers' identities. There are many ways to ascertain a Servicemember's bona fides, and while anyone is free to ask for bona fides, please do not ask for a photo of an ID card or DD214.

You could carry on a Q&A through PM with service members in the same branch as yourself. Just by asking the definitions of slang terms, you will know if you’re talking to the real deal - or BS.

I’m sort of kidding with this. It’s often a bit of work to establish legitimacy. Good luck with this project. It has noble intentions.
