DRUG/SPAM E-mails ?

Hello, I have several questions, I keep getting emails trying to get me to order drugs, you know the drill I guess, unless I am the only person in the world getting these.

I must be really far behind in the times since I need to ask these questions........

1. is it legal to sell "all" these "legal" drugs on internet and how can they do it and not get caught ?

2. why do they always mispell the word "meddications" ?

3. why is the email always silly sounding/looking ? (Example: bert marones, Re: weatherwear success ?) to a person that is not even close to my name, or sometimes same email carrier as mine ? Would they not do much better selling just being honest with email name/drugs etc. ?

4. has there ever been a real person answer or click on one of these links ?

5. if so, could I send them an answer back ? I really would like to start answering some of these with some stupid questios over and over to get them back, is this possible ?

6. I keep getting stock deals, over and over, is it possible they know when you delete them and so they just send more and more until you finally answer ?

7. and lastly, this part really craps me off, because I heard this was done to intentionally to confuse the spam blockers, which in my opinion says to me, I am an illegal drug/spam spreader and I think you might be stupid enough to buy from me, this is what I just got today, among about ten others,

"feathered finery. But when Jupiter proposed to make him king
because of the beauty of his plumage, the birds indignantly
protested, and each plucked from him his own feathers, leaving
the Jackdaw nothing but a Jackdaw.
The Goatherd and the Wild Goats
A GOATHERD, driving his flock from their pasture at eventide,
found some Wild Goats mingled among them, and shut them up
together with his own for the night. The next day it snowed very
hard, so that he could not take the herd to their usual feeding
places, but was obliged to keep them in the fold. He gave his
own goats just sufficient food to keep them alive, but fed the
strangers more abundantly in the hope of enticing them to stay
with him and of making them his own. When the thaw set in, he"

then it ends........somewhere there is actually sick people doing these things ?

I know these are stupid questions, these seem to be stupid times, I really don't know most of the answers, I do realize there is probably no real solution, wish I could find out where they lived, especially the ones that say, "In reference to our last email" If I could find this person I promise he would not be a happy camper..............

Thanks for any help...........

they usually come from offshore. It is legal to import small quantities of drugs for personal use.

all part of trying to get around spam filtering

6. I keep getting stock deals, over and over, is it possible they know when you delete them and so they just send more and more until you finally answer ?

No. They just send a lot.

I've always wondered why anyone would do business with someone whose entrée to them was a lie wrapped in a deception.

Sounds to me like you need a Spam filter. There are many out there but few work well. You can try a free filter or pay for one such as Spam Inspector from www.giantcompany.com.

Gollnick, K.V., thank you very much.:D

I also wanted to add, I love to get emails from forum members or anyone else who just wants to write me, as long as it's not like these emails I don't mind at all, I look forward to them.

Gollnick has given you all the answers. I ordered some Allupurinol for gout from one of these companies. The drugs arrived in the UK in 3 days postmarked Thailand! The customs declaration said 'health supplement'. They were Prescribe only Medication!

Never reply back, or click 'unsubscribe' to spam as it demonstrates that you have a valid e-mail address that is being monitored. Spam companies sell these addresses at a premium as they are known as 'hot addresses'.

My ISP filters pretty much all of my spam e-mails. If your ISP has a webmail facility, you usually turn Spam Filtering on from there in 'Options'.

I also use Mailwasher Pro from http://www.firetrust.com/ and can recommend it. In fact I have just looked at Mailwasher which sits by the clock and checks mail every 5 minutes and I have one e-mail marked as SPAM ready for deletion. If you want a copy of the older Free version, just e-mail me.

I remember first seeing the gibberish sentences on usenet around 1997 or so. There are so many nutcases out there that post random crap anyway that I didn't realize they were testing spam filters. At the same time there was a guy crossposting to the universe about how the CIA was out to get him.

It's clever how they often form gramatically correct sentences. Your example is more coherent than I had seen before (the theme is preserved throughout each sentence), but even with completely meaningless junk it's hard for a computer to interpret it to be spam.

As for the drugs, they don't even necessarily send them. News reports on it say it's often a scam to grab a payment from you. Maybe they could send the product legally, but they could also just not send it at all.

my neighbor has a program that takes all of the spam he gets and sends it back to the companies spamming, now I don't know if it just takes everything out of his filter and sends all to each company, or if it just send that company's spam back to them, is kind of funny to watch it

he got it off of one of the tech websites for computers.

That would be wonderful, but I wonder how you would really know if it got there, most likely no one ever reads emails anyway.

I can't imagine any of these "Puke heads" having valid emails.....I just wish someone would start a major campaign against these kinds of people.

The truth is, I would not mind if a person emailed me outright in an honest manner and stated what he or she wanted, then accept my reply as a final yes or no, instead they use under the table deception/tactics.

Somewhere, there are people who sit and write these emails and program machines to send them, they are the ones I would like to shut down.

Thanks for the added info.:)

Hello again, thought I would add a funny addition to this drug spam thread, I just got this one today, which is probably about the 4th in a row in the last week.

This one is a hoot, these people are really hard up if they think I would fall for this................ :o

SENDER says: I have nothing to gain by writing this letter other than the fact that I like helping people.
I started taking "*** " four months ago and I can't begin to tell you all the wonderful things it has done for me.
My hair is twice as thick, my complexion has dramatically improved and my wife thinks I'm Tarzan!
I can actually feel my body growing stronger and more powerful every day.
Do yourself a huge favor and try this stuff. If it helps you even 10% of what it's done for me,
you'll never stop taking it, I know I won't.

:p I removed the real letters, and no I did not order any even though I am 50 and have white thinning hair..........:o

OK, _THIS_ one I'm going to purchase! :D

(This cr*p seems to appear in cycles, doesn't it? Why is that? Nothing for a few months, then I'm inundated with those "spoofed" Hotmail emails, then nothing for a few months, and now I'm inundated with "Your new password", etc. SPAM email. )

Side effects may include uncontrollable urges to swing from the chandeliers, talk to apes, and live in a tree.

Tarzanx is only available by prescriptions, so ask your doctor if Tarzanx is right for you!

Cockroachfarm, if you get some of this and your hair gets thicker, please contact me as soon as possible......I don't have much left to work with...........

Gollnick, I knew I could count on you to give me your take on this.....:D :p

I would be VERY leary if these drugs are even what they say they are, much less the correct dosage. I do not trust overseas operations for the quality control of their meds.

Ok, I realize this is not drug related spam as per the original thread, but I just got this email below and thought I needed some advice from my fellow knife buddies.

P.S. I wonder if this is a free service ?

Some of them are said to be only $20 or so, but I think the "real" fake diplomas (with verification services and stuff to help with your scam) cost a grand or two.

Our corporate offices use POSTINI SPAM filtering; and it significantly reduces the amount of crap you receive to your Inbox. We have ours setup so that each person gets a personalized Message Center which quarantines SPAM, you can then review SPAM to determine which messages are legitimate and which are not. It also utilized a virus filter that uses Mcafee definitions to quarantine email viruses.

You can also enable POSTINI to Tag and Deliver, or to Block.

POSTINI captures ~8 GB of SPAM from our network daily (I am a NetAdmin and have privileges to the service to verify it)

You need to have administrative privileges to your network's mailserver to be able to setup this service, however. It isn't something an end-user can subscribe to.
