Drum switch wiring

I have a new Dayton drum switch that I want to wire to a 3/4 hp motor for use on my disc grinder. I want to wire it up to 220 but the diagram in the switch only shows one wire going into the switch, I can see where the ground goes but what about the other hot wire? does it go directly to the motor?
