I've read somewhere about using a dry lubricant to coat blades to prevent rust. I can't find the information anymore, but I think it was a dry silicone lube and that it was food safe. Can anyone recommend me something along these lines? I'm trying a high carbon steel blade that is very susceptible to rust. Thanks.

"Marine Tuf-Coat" is a dry lube/protectorant. A VERY effective one for knife blades.

Heck yea?? I use to sell packastand swords. I had a big rust problem with them. People that wanted to look at them tough them and didn’t buy them. I found the regular tuff-cloth and all of my problems went away.
