Drying box or no drying box?

As i continue to work through the house looking at stuff i should move with me to louisville (versus discarding), i continue to pass by my drying box. I built the thing a number of years ago when i first started and was really low on handle materials. It was really useful to me for rapidly completing drying of wood i got from local harvesters or board stock bought from woodcraft or the like. Ive also used it to extra-dry wood sent out to k&g for stabilizing.

Im now considering ditching the thing, as i have a good supply of dry wood now … and im not convinced it really helps much with k&g because once they open the vacuum sealed bags, the wood (which sucks moisture out of the air like a sponge) is no longer “ultra dry” within a half day to a day (ive measured this … its pretty impressive).

So … how many of you use a drying box, or would you back me in ditching the thing (which is kind of ungainly)?

Ditch it. 21'st century. Too much time spent on a thing that can be bought affordably.

My modified toaster/tempering oven holds drying temps reliably. I love multitaskers

Again, within time your wood succumbs to the environment.

A food dehydrator works well if set on low. Available on Offer up, and flea markets for almost nothing.

I dry, plastic wrap and freezer bag my blocks going to K&G. They're processed faster if they're received dry. After stabilization they can succumb all they want to
