If I intend to stabilize the wood with oil or polyester resin, does it need to be dry then, or it wouldn't matter because it has been stabilized?

Ok. Thanks! I just thought that if the resin "locks in" the moisture, the wood cannot dry and therefore will not deform...

Actually the other way around,If the moister is locked in every time the weather changes the water expands and contracts and the wood moves more.

Most stabilizing places won't even touch wood that is above 10%, might even be 8....But i know they will not do wet wood.

has anyone built their own stabilizer...I saw the tutorial on Chris Crawford's site and was wondering if it was an effective way of stabilizing...
