Gday all, Here is one of many links on the subject of drying wood. I would guess , that atleast some of us, need to engage in this process. I feel understanding the process of drying wood is important to understand- from downing a wet tree to a dry knife block.
This general link may be helpful to some of you. Please feel free to add any links or comments about your experience with the drying process. Here is the link--Thank You-Mark http://www.woodturningvideosplus.com/air-drying-wood.html

Thanks for the link. I have tried all sorts of ways to dry wood, even built me a kiln out of an old fridge. The best way I have found is with Anchorseal and time. The Anchorseal actually slows the drying process but retains all the figure in the wood and is less prone to warp or crack. I have had decent luck with boiling before drying as well.
