DSL for $10/month

Due to the recent acquisitions/take-over of BellSouth by AT&T they have been mandated to offer DSL at $10/month in 22 states.

It is only DSL "lite" at 768K download and 128K upload, and there is a one year contract - but this is still DSL at low dial-up prices.

The 22 qualifying states are:

AT&T - California, Nevada, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Connecticut

Bellsouth - Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana, Kentucky.

and it is kind of "hidden" to qualify one canNOT be an existing AT&T or BellSouth internet customer. (more details in that linked thread above)

I can verify this deal -
as I signed up on Tuesday and I am on ($10/month) DSL since 6:30pm Thursday.

That's 768k not 768K. Average speed should be about 10 times faster than dialup. 768 KiloBYTES is about 6 megabits. 768 KiloBITS is about .44 megabits. That's still a nice deal. Are there any download limits?
 
Look under the Internet specials. I have complained about the better half's lack of enthusiasm to change from dial up before in this forum, but she finally relented. $10/month. The difference is night and day. I am now in the 21st century.

I'm with BellSouth - to get to the page one has to enter the phone number, then on the next page answer NO to existing Dual-Up, and NO to existing broadband customer - only then is there a page of options open which shows the $10/month deal.
